Five years ago, the Women’s Cancer Fund was launched at the Maine Cancer Foundation. Since that time, just over $500,000 has been raised to insure that much-needed research, public and professional education and patient support programs throughout Maine receive support. Hundreds of women have been helped as they face the challenge of breast and other cancers that affect them.

The primary source of revenue for the Fund is the annual Cure Breast Cancer for ME Luncheon. Now in its 7th year, the luncheon will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2007 from 11:30am to 2:00pm at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland. Following our survivor tributes, we will focus the spotlight on Award Winners, hear an update on progress being made against this disease. It’s a wonderful gathering of compassion, hope and resolve as we advance the path to a breast cancer free future.
